Suntec Singapore Wins NTUC U SAFE SPARKS Award for Excellence in Workplace Safety and Health
Singapore, 17 May 2016 – Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre (Suntec Singapore) is proud to bag its first ever win under the SPARKS Award category at the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) U SAFE Awards 2016, held at the Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability yesterday afternoon.
The second edition of the NTUC U SAFE SPARKS Award was awarded to eight corporate organisations to recognise their outstanding contributions that advocate and support Workplace Safety and Health (WSH). Among the eight winners in the SPARKS Award category, Suntec Singapore excelled in three key areas, namely the attainment of BizSafe Level 4, implementation of the Workpro initiative and proactive workplace health promotion.
Organised by NTUC in partnership with the WSH Council, NTUC LearningHub, and the Employment & Employability Institute (e2i), the U SAFE SPARKS Award for organisations is judged based on criteria that proactively build stronger workplace safety and health practices such as workers’ training and skills upgrading in WSH and the adoption of best industry practices.
“Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for our employees is one of our key priorities. We strongly believe that our consistent planning and rollout of initiatives will continue to improve the wellbeing of our workforce,” said Grace Yang, Assistant Director of Human Resources.
Echoing her comments, Arun Madhok, CEO of Suntec Singapore, added: “We’re honoured to be recognised as one of the eight winners for this important award. It’s a testament to our efforts in creating a conducive workplace environment through the implementation of safety and health initiatives. We’ll continue to strive to set the benchmark for excellence in workplace safety and health.”
