14 August 2019 — Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre (Suntec Convention Centre) has officially launched its new art space named Art@Suntec today. Located at level 3 of the Centre, Art@Suntec is a dedicated art space for local artists.

Its inaugural exhibition, titled ‘Instinct’ by Roderick Koh, is on display from now to October 2019. To celebrate the opening, Suntec Convention Centre threw a cocktail party where guests explored the exhibition, admired the masterpieces and got up close with the artist.

“Art@Suntec is an indoor art space like no other,” said Suntec Convention Centre CEO Arun Madhok. “Most major galleries have fixed operating hours but Suntec Convention Centre is open 24/7 so our patrons can visit the exhibition whenever they want. Art@Suntec is a platform for homegrown artists who wish to launch their artwork and reach out to our local and international visitors. For our first exhibition, we’re proud to support local artist and my former Suntec Convention Centre team member, Roderick.”

Using mixed media like sand and glass, all ten paintings from the ‘Instinct’ collection have been specially created for Art@Suntec’s debut display. “This is my first major exhibition and each piece reflects one of the five themes: Courage, Fearlessness, Sense, Spirit and Visceral,” said Roderick Koh. “I’m dedicating all the proceeds from the sales of ‘Instinct’ to the Singapore Cancer Society which I hold close to my heart. It’s my way of giving back to the society.”

Visitors can purchase the art pieces by contacting the artist. For more information, visit www.artsuntecsingapore.com.
